About him
It has taken quite a long time to get where I am, which is finally at ease with myself(well nearly). There are plenty of things which I would like to change or develop in my life, but I see that as a positive goal rather than a regret. My friends joke that I have been semi retired all my life; the truth is that I enjoy my work as an architect, but it has never taken over my life. Other things have always been important; music as an amateur cellist, playing in chamber groups - mostly classical, but also in a string orchestra that takes on all sorts: jazz, film, swing, latin American etc. Family has become increasingly important; I have a close relationship with my step daughter; cousins, nephew and niece are a source of kinship and love. There is always something on the go: a painting, making a chair, rebuilding a motorbike; time flies and these projects can to be protracted.
I have just added 2 new photos taken in Marrakech where I was for my step daughter's wedding. I am definitely not looking for someone to look after me; no-one has ever ironed a shirt for me.

I like strong, intelligent, independent women. Yes this can be a challenging, particularly if they are also very attractive, but why be involved with someone you can't treat as an individual with their own ideas and aspirations? I don't think that it is necessary to have the same interests, but there has to be a willingness to engage, so that ideas can be discussed and challenged. Equally it isn't necessary to do everything together or only to do those activities that are compatible; but it is good to be presented with new horizons and to enthuse others with your own interests. Political awareness is important, open to diversity and inclusivity, left and green leaning. You don't have to like my friends but I won't give them up.
