About her
I have been told that I have not provided enough details about myself, so at risk of boring you to distraction, here is my second attempt!
I have a son and three grandchildren all through university, and have been divorced for many years. I have had a very varied life, from training horses and farming to stockbroking! Now that I have retired and am free to travel, my pleasant life could be much improved by finding a congenial companion, who shares some of my interests ( countryside, music, plants, garden design, boats, doing up houses, good food and wine, investment, pleasant views, peace and quiet).and maybe could introduce me to some new interests.
Ideally he/she should be, like me, intelligent, good natured and a country lover, also free to share my tendency to fly south with the birds for the winter! If a friendship developed into something deeper, that would be even better, but by no means essential! (Only applies to a man! I'm definitely not lesbian!)
I am a quiet person, well-educated with a great interest in what is going on in the world. I envisage a possibility of sharing my lovely house with an appreciative person, it's far too big for just me! Or I might be persuaded to your “neck of the woods”.
In December 2017 I had my first lovely cruise on a sailing ship around Caribbean islands, several since, including the Indian ocean. Who will join me this winter? In January or February a Caribbean or New Zealand cruise or beach holiday ? Or perhaps a hotel stay in the winelands of South Africa would suit you better. Or Spring in Cyprus? What better way to get to know someone? Go on, be brave!

Male or female, who would ideally enjoy, (or aspire to) a comfortable country lifestyle and be able to afford it and ideally be based in the South West or Cotswolds. A keen gardener and winter sun-seeker would be especially appreciated!
Good natured, trustworthy, intelligent with a sense of humour and a lifetime of interesting experiences, these are the things that matter most to me. If religious, then not extreme. If you are a man seeking a long term relationship, these attributes are particularly important, and I would prefer a mannerly partner, non-combative, comfortable in their own skin, someone I could be proud of. Sorry, but I hate facial hair, get shaving, you beardies! That is my only irrational phobia. Honestly! I even like spiders! I would be much more flexible in finding a friend or travelling companion of course. Variety is the spice of life! But at the end of the day, shared interests and attitudes seem the best starting points.
Some one with a dog would be ideal, I live on the edge of Dartmoor with lovely walks close by and am dogless at the moment. Get in touch, why wait, you only live once!
