About him
I am a happy, romantic, honest, fun loving person who is looking for a lady friend for - eternity, maybe. I like socialising, travel (California in particular), music (Californian in particular!!!), playing sports (fencing, tennis, golf), cooking (Pakistani, Indian) and reading when possible (SF, biographies).
I have great curiosity about things and I really like visiting unusual places (ancient or modern) and poking my nose into things and places that don't concern me. For example, when I visited the aircraft museum outside Prague, the state television company was making a documentary on the Czech contribution to the space race, so their Soyuz space capsule exhibit had been opened so they could photograph the inside. I asked if I could sit inside and they agreed (it was astonishing), but didn't let me take photographs of me sitting there!! Shame, but I don't know anyone else who has sat inside a real spaceship, do you?? Its interesting what you can achieve if you just ask nicely!! (I tried to see the secret passage to the underworld in the Hypogeum in Malta, but I think the 'attendants' had heard of my quest and stopped me).
I have been single (again) for about 20 years and have 3 grown up children. They all have families now and live in far off parts of the country with their children. I now have 4 grand children, which has happened 'almost overnight', so is quite a shock. Christmas getting more expensive by the day!
So if you are seriously curious about 'things' and like live music ( knowledge of any of: Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane, Captain Beefheart, Pink Floyd will be acceptable), you like cockles (oysters also acceptable) and even playing sports, then do get in touch.

My ideal match is a fellow explorer along the path of life. Someone with whom to share life's joys and sorrows, although 'sorrows' aren't really to be encouraged or entertained. An optimist who leaps (ok that is perhaps a little optimistic) out of bed every morning, who can't wait to see what is going to happen next in life. It could also be helpful if you enjoyed doing some (at least) of the things I enjoy, not that I would force anyone into any of it!! You should be comfortable attending formal dinners as well as spending exotic days in Amsterdam or the Caribbean, where I was fortunate to live and where I would love to live again one day.
