About him
I think I’m a calm, easygoing, affable type. People say I look a little younger than I am although I’ve always had a mature and responsible outlook on life. I tend to be rather deep thinking and prefer to form my own ideas and opinions although I am tolerant and understanding of other people’s views. I am a considerate type, I’m not materialistic and prefer life’s simple pleasures. I have a rather surreal view of life which is reflected in my sense of humour but I always keep a positive outlook and try to see the lighter side of things. l’m definitely a ‘glass half full’ rather than a ‘glass half empty’ type. I have my own circle of friends to whom I am loyal and put great emphasis on sense of community and community values. I can be solitary and gregarious- but not at the same time! I dress to suit the occasion and can be smart and casual. I have varied tastes in music including some classical, jazz, rock and roll, 1950s/60s but perhaps my favourite is big band/ swing music and I’m something of a 1940s enthusiast. My varied interests include reading, the outdoors, wildlife, various conservation/ heritage projects, animal welfare, watercolour painting to name but a few. I respect the fact that we are all individuals with our own unique personalities but to me that really special person would be kind, good natured, caring, understanding but also strong and resilient in difficult situations. If she could still be ladylike whether she’s smartly dressed or in casuals then she would be the type that I would really like to meet.
