About him
I am full-time writer and I've published both crime and fantasy novels. These don't make much money but doing the research means I know how to rob banks and art galleries if things get really tight.
Writers inevitably spend a lot of time in front of a screen, but I'm equally happy outdoors, especially walking in the countryside near me. I enjoy travel too which I can tell myself is for research purposes.
My temperament runs to self-deprecation so it's a challenge to list my good qualities although I should probably have a go. Enough friends tell me that I'm kind, calm, and supportive that I suppose it must be true! As introvert I'd rather listen than talk, although once I get to know you I'm quite talkative. I'm often told I'm "too nice", but I'd rather have that than the alternative... Everyone thinks they have a cracking sense of humour; mine is very much at the dry end of the scale, so your mileage may vary.
I'm happy with my life as it is (I'm an optimist and can usually see the positives) but, having been widowed six years ago, there's definitely room for someone else in it. Perhaps that's you! Turns out most things are more fun with someone else. There are plenty of advantages to dating a writer, including research trips and a flexible schedule, and if things go really well there's always a chance of a cameo appearance in one of my novels...

"I'll know you when I find you” is not very helpful, but... I don't have a type and everything comes down to chemistry.
That said, you'll probably be intelligent and funny, and more likely to be an introvert than an extrovert. We won't necessarily have the same interests, but there'll be some overlaps, and I'm guessing you'll like at least one of books and cats.
