About him
Hi, I'm a gentle, intelligent, affectionate man currently in Torbay. I have 2 young adults (now 22 and 24) who get on so well together, at university now and I'm proud of them. I have been a widow for 12 years now. I have enjoyed being a Dad but my children have flown the nest and it can be a bit of a lonely life and I often wish I had someone else to talk to, someone to share life and have fun with, take out for a meal once in a while.
I enjoy walks on the coast and the country, the beach with my puppy, I like to keep healthy and active. I enjoy holidays, used to take my children around different parts of Europe each year. I'd also say I'm quite adventurous and have worked overseas in New Zealand, Australia and at an orphanage in Thailand. I'm always open for more travel in the future, but maybe with a special partner next time, though it's more important to me to find the right lady. I love Cornwall, grew up there, and may be thinking of retiring there.
I have a wonderful puppy Gemma, a Spaniel Jack Russell cross, now 1 year old - she's adorable, active, intelligent, sometimes mischievous and I love her.
I try to tread lightly on this earth, I care about the environment and have given up eating beef since watching a David Attenborough film 2 years ago. I do hope we can acheive the deadlines for climate change before it's too late. This dreadful war on the Ukraine is just awful isn't it. I've been offering my daughter's bedroom for a Ukrainian refugee the last couple of years, no takers yet.
I wouldn't boast of being handsome, but at our time of life surely looks aren't the priority, it's far more important to find someone kind hearted and loving to look after each other and share your life with.

I am looking for someone who wants a real relationship – someone to enjoy being with and in it for the long term - someone who is truly kind to others. Always loyal, and no dramas, easy going.
I value kindness, gentleness, honesty, faithfulness, friendship, a sense of humour and enjoying sharing the simple things life has to offer. If you have these kind of qualities, I can offer you the same.
I am conscious that I'm getting older now, and my honest intention is that I want to find somebody to enjoy my retirement with, both for each other's company, and to look after each other and generally enjoy life together, outings, meals, walks, holidays, grandchildren etc.
