I am an active and positive person with a good sense of humour. I hope I am kind and considerate - I try to be.
I still work because I love it. I like my cosy and tidy environment and enjoy cooking. Nowadays I tend toward a plantbased diet with occasional fish or meat. I drink wine but not every day.
I go to a community gym to keep fit but my love is walking. I go to the cinema a lot and theatre and museums when I can. I love reading and travel, but not tourism (even before Covid).
I enjoy music but don't listen to enough of it. I love live music and opera but don't go often enough.
I think I have an optimistic outlook on life but this does not blind me to problems in the world or in people and over the years I have learned to trust myself and choose friends wisely!
About her ideal match
I would like to meet a man around my own age (+/- 5 or 6 years) who is kind, considerate, loving and funny.
I don't know what would make a relationship work with someone I haven't met. I think it starts with liking each other, accepting and respecting each other, enjoying each other's company, giving each other space and both having a sense of humour that the other gets.
I would like to share interests but it's also healthy if each has their own interests. I am generally open to new experiences but will say if they are not for me. I respect other people's passions - for instance, I have no great interest in football, rugby or Formula 1, but appreciate that they bring huge enjoyment to others.
Deal breakers would be smoking, lack of sense of humour and bad behaviour.
