A bit about me, I'm self-employed / semi-retired and intent on not working too hard ever again, been there and done the whole corporate thing, I do like/love good food/drink/company and to the offset the former, I tend to swim or gym every day, which is made all the easier as I live across the road from the gym!
I do love my sports, radio, books, comics and films (no blu-ray and a bottle of wine on the sofa cliches thank you) and would happily share my interests and passions with you and would be equally open to sharing yours, it's good to share and do things together, no?
And if you want to know more/anything, well then by all means just ask!

Do you believe in finding "the one"?
I don't believe that there's just one "ideal" match for each of us out there, hence I am open-minded as to who that person could be.
In any case, is it about sole mate or soul mate?
A tricky question to be sure, no doubt I'm a good catch for the right person, whoever that might be, increasingly though I know more of what I don't want than what I do, if that makes sense?
Having said that, I'm looking for a best friend, lover, partner and general confidante all rolled into one, not so much "perfect", but perfect for me and me for them.
I don't have a "type" but if you're an intelligent, confident, talkative, sassy, attractive, fun, funny and perhaps quirky, "nerdy" woman then we'd be off to a great start.

Mark is one of my rocks. He may not know this but he gives me balance, he understands me (quite an achievement) and is one of the most perceptive and intuitive people I know (after me of course!).
Mark is a strong character, you would meet him and find him funny, very social and able to communicate and adapt with people from virtually all walks of life - you quickly know where the line is drawn with Mark - he can be very black and white, but I think he would value a woman who could bring a bit of grey into the frame.
I understand people's pain and can make people feel valued and understood so I have loads of good female friends - why am I talking about me? Well it's because if you are a woman who seems to find herself giving all the time, I can tell you that Mark does all those things for me. He allows me to be free, stupid, clumsy, loud, tell crap jokes etc... all the while totally valuing me and making me feel appreciated. There are very few people I have in my life like Mark and I'm thankful to count him as a friend. I doubt any woman in his life ever complained of being taken for granted.
As I write this I am late for a dinner tonight with him, but I know he won't stress or make me feel like I've messed his night up - he'll welcome me, share a drink and always have the spare room available if I'm too tired to drive back to London (I hope!)
I really do wish this site at least brings him some new friends he can enjoy more good times with - who knows maybe someone special that deserves him and vice versa.
Mark - forgive me for doing this without your consent... but I urge you to approve, you know me, I would never use this web stuff, but I tried it for a week so far and there are some really nice people out there - give it a chance mate.
